Isaiah 1:16-18
In the morning
O God, our Father, equip us with these gifts of Thine which will enable us to live aright today and every day. Grant unto us the faith which can accept the things which it can not understand, and which will never turn to doubt. Grant unto us the hope which still hopes on, ever in the dark, and which will never turn to despair. Grant unto us the loyalty which will be true to Thee, even though all men deny Thee and which will never stop to compromise. Grant unto us the purity which can resist all the seductions of temptation, and which can never be turned from the straight way. Arm our wills with Thy strength, and fill our hearts with Thy love, so that we may be strong to obey Thee and loving to serve our fellow-men, and so be like our Master, This we ask fro Thy love's sake. AMEN
In the evening
O God, our Father, we remember all the failures of today. Forgive us for any promises we broke today, or any resolution we failed to keep. Forgive us for any friends we failed today, or any people we hurl. Forgive us for any carelessness in our work today, or any neglect of duty. Forgive us for nay mean, ungenerous, or dishonorable deed today, for any false, impure, or angry word. O God, our Father, we remember all who have helped us today. We thank Thee for those who helped us to resist our temptations. We thank Thee for those who helped us with our work. We thank Thee for anyone who gave us a word of thanks of encouragement of praise, or of appreciation. We thank Thee for those who sent us happier on our way, because we met them. More than anything else we thank Thee for Jesus, our Saviour and our Friend. Grant that we may show our penitence for our failures, and our gratitude for Thy gifts by waking to do better tomorrow, and walk more closely with Thee. This we ask for Thy love's sake. AMEN
